Water Supply System Crowdfunding Campaign

I created and managed A Drop of Life’s first ever crowdfunding campaign for building a water supply system in rural Nepal for close to 5,000 villagers.

  • Client: A Drop of Life
  • Role: Campaign manager, content producer
  • Products: Campaign strategy, website, digital content (text, video, motion graphics, social cards), newsletter
  • Website: https://crowdfunding.adropoflife.org/en/

Campaign Strategy

I planned a digital strategy for the campaign with limited budget, leveraging email marketing, social media, paid media coverage, as well as initiating a new WhatsApp chatbot channel with in-app donation option for the organization. I have also designed the campaign visual identity.

Website

I have built the website with WordPress and solely created all the content you may see on the website. I worked with the project team as well as the local partner to gather information and turn them into helpful and interesting content for the potential donors.

Social Media

I have created a variety of social posts in different formats to tell the story of the people in need as to raise awareness and attract donations. That also includes an animation which I wrote the script and managed a freelance animator to create, as well as Instagram Reels that I created with footage collected by local partner with guidelines from me.

Engagement

To explore new and effective means to reach our existing donor base, I proposed and led the whole process of setting up a WhatsApp chatbot channel with a service provider. We used WhatsApp to send promotional push messages and built a FAQ chatbot for the audience to learn more about the campaign. The organization mainly used email and sms to reach existing supporters, after A/B test between email and WhatsApp marketing, we found out WhatsApp was more effective in terms of both donation amount and number of donors.
